Are the women Veterans in your community aware that there is a VA women’s health transition training course available to them? Health Program Managers, like you, can get the word out that this training is beneficial to women Veterans as it provides them with a deeper understanding of the women’s health services available within the VA health care system.
VA Women’s Health Transition Training
The Women’s Health Services Office at the Department of Veterans Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Defense and Transition Assistance Program, is hosting the Women’s Health Transition Training Program. Spread the word to women Veterans in your community that this four-hour interactive course, led by a woman Vet, will cover important health topics specific to women, concluding with a tour of the local VA Women’s Medical Center. Women Veterans need to be made aware that VA is much more inclusive than it used to be, and that VA wants to make sure Servicewomen get the education they need concerning women's health care services available from VA after separation from the military.
Goals
The goal for your women Vets is for them to leave this training feeling empowered to proactively manage their own health care and to be comforted by their new support system at VA. Encourage them to get more involved in their health by signing up for an upcoming training today!
Attendance
Please let all Servicewomen know that they are welcome to attend the training (in-person or virtual), and that attendance of active-duty Servicewomen who plan to transition to Civilian or Reserve/National Guard Status within the next calendar year is strongly encouraged.
