FedRAMP Compliance Announcement
As we continue to prioritize our clients’ safety and security, QuickSeries is excited to announce our efforts to become Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) compliant. This certification will allow us to further safeguard data, meet high security standards, and meet the needs of U.S. Federal agencies.
What is FedRAMP?
FedRAMP is a program established by the U.S. Government to ensure that cloud service providers (CSPs) meet strict safety protocols. The program ensures security when accessing cloud computing products and services and protects sensitive Federal data in the cloud. Under this program, authorized FedRAMP CSPs can provide services for U.S. Government agencies.
In order to become FedRAMP compliant, QuickSeries must submit a FedRAMP Initiation Request form, which triggers an assessment from an independent Third-Party Assessment Organization (3PAO). After the assessment, we wait for authorization from the FedRAMP PMO (Program Management Office).
Why is FedRAMP Important?
- Ensures Security: FedRAMP establishes rigorous security standards to safeguard sensitive government data in the cloud.
- Simplifies Cloud Adoption for Agencies: It provides a standardized approach that reduces the complexity and cost of adopting cloud services for federal agencies.
- Promotes Transparency: The program fosters clear communication and visibility into security practices between cloud providers and federal agencies.
- Supports National Security: By ensuring secure and reliable cloud services, FedRAMP helps protect critical government infrastructure from potential threats.
- Boosts Vendor Credibility: Achieving FedRAMP authorization signals that a vendor meets stringent security and compliance requirements, enhancing their reputation.
- Governed by Leading Organizations: FedRAMP is overseen by influential bodies like GSA, DoD, DHS, and the Federal CIO Council, ensuring its policies align with national priorities.
Our Journey Towards FedRAMP Compliance
Achieving FedRAMP compliance that meets government cloud security standards requires planning, cooperation across teams and departments, and commitment to security. Our plan includes:
- Assessing our current security measures and conducting an analysis to identify areas where our systems do not align with FedRAMP requirements.
- Implementing necessary changes that strengthen our controls, policies, and procedures.
- Working alongside a 3PAO to validate compliance readiness.
- Securing final authorization.
